Dale and Martha Hawk Museum

The Dale and Martha Hawk Museum is located 4 miles East and 3 miles North of Wolford, ND, and approximately 90 miles East of Minot. The Hawk Museum has a vast collection of antiques and contains thousands of farm implements, in both miniature and full size. The collection is housed in five historic buildings that include a church, store and schoolhouse.

Falkirk Mine

The Falkirk Mine is located 60 miles South of Minot. The Mine is an exciting place to visit and tour. This mine supplies lignite to the Coal Creek Station.

Garrison Dam and Powerhouse

The Garrison Dam and Powerhouse is located 60 miles South of Minot. The Dam is a hydroelectric generating facility with a capacity of 500,000 KW. It is also used for flood control, irrigation, recreation, municipal and industrial water supply, and downstream navigation. Tours are available between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Knife River Indian Villages

The rich heritage of the American Plains Indian is interpreted at the Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site, located near Stanton, which is 65 miles South of Minot. A visitors center offers travelers a glimpse as far back as 11,000 years. The Hidatsa and Mandan tribes inhabited this village site for centuries. They were host to the famous American explorers Lewis & Clark in 1804-1805.

Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center & Fort Mandan

Just 45 miles south of Minot is the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan. Inside the Interpretive Center you will find numerous displays and rare artifacts from the legendary journey of Lewis and Clark.

Take step back in time to the winter of 1804-1805 as you enter the authentically reconstructed Fort Mandan. It was here that Lewis and Clark first met Sakakawea and became friends with the Mandan and Hidatsa Indians who helped them through their first long, cold winter.

The International Peace Garden

The International Peace Garden is located 94 miles North of Minot. The Garden is a 2,339 acre botanical garden commemorating peace between the United States and Canada along the world's largest unfortified border. It blooms with more than 150,000 flowers and showcases the Peace Chapel and a memorial to September 11th.
