Welcome Canadians!
On behalf of the "Magic City", the Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomes our neighbors to the north to come and enjoy the magic of Minot.
Minot hotels are continuously offering specials to our Canadian friends including at par rates, special package discounts, and discounted room rates. Because these discounts are constantly changing, please contact us for our current list of Canadian specials.

Do I need a Passport?
As of June 1, 2009, U.S. law under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative requires all Canadian and U.S. travelers entering the United States by land, sea or air to present a single document denoting both identity and citizenship.
For most travelers this document will be a passport. To learn about other valid documentation visit the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative website, www.getyouhome.gov or the Canada Border Services Agency website www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca
Need to get a passport? Visit www.getapassportnow.com, a site launched by the Travel Industry of America, to print off an application for a passport and begin the process. Getting a passport can take several weeks, so plan ahead!

Canadian Refund of Sales Tax
The North Dakota Tax Department has created a new electronic filing system to expedite the refund claims process for Canadians. The new system was implemented in July 1, 2009, and has fully replaced the paper form (which is no longer accepted).
The electronic method can be accessed through the State of North Dakota Tax Department's secure website at http://www.nd.gov/tax/salesanduse/canrefund/.
Eligibility for a refund has not changed. Simply fill out the electronic form, print off the Refund Confirmation Page, attach the originals of your receipts and mail them to:
